With the amendment in 'Consumer Protection Act 2019' the pecuniary jurisdiction of the Consumer Courts have been revised. Consequently nearly all medical matters would be at District commissions.

Adv. Shubham Kumari (Associate) is a law graduate from the Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. With a keen interest in litigation, she has developed considerable exposure to various aspects of civil, criminal, and consumer litigation through her academic pursuits and professional engagements. She also possesses a strong interest in medico-legal jurisprudence, including Medical Negligence Law, Surrogacy Law, and Constitutional Law.
She has previously been associated with matters involving Matrimonial Disputes, Motor Accident Compensation Claims, Cheque Dishonour Cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, and Debt Recovery proceedings before various forums, including the District Courts across Delhi and the Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT). Through these engagements, she has gained practical experience in legal drafting, pleadings, client counselling, and litigation management.
At present, she is primarily engaged in surrogacy-related legal and regulatory matters in compliance with the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021 and the Rules framed thereunder. She is also actively involved in handling medical negligence and consumer disputes before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) and the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions (DCDRCs). Her professional approach reflects a strong commitment to legal research, analytical precision, and effective advocacy.
