With the amendment in 'Consumer Protection Act 2019' the pecuniary jurisdiction of the Consumer Courts have been revised. Consequently nearly all medical matters would be at District commissions.

The General Officer is an alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. He was commissioned in Army Medical Corps in Mar 1981. After initial stints of appointments as Medical Officer at MH Kirkee and 180 MH, he was posted to INHS Asvini for specialization in Gen Medicine. In 1986, in his MD (Med) exam, he stood 1st in Bombay University.
In the year 1991 he was selected for study leave in Nephrology and joined prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh for DM (Nephro).
Apart from professional post the Gen Offr has held many important Administrative appointments in his distinguished career which include Brig Medical, HQ 33 Corps (Jun 12 to Mar 14), Dy Commandant Command Hospital (SC) Pune (Apr 14 to Jan 15). He moved to become Chief Medical Officer HQ Eastern Naval Command (Feb 15 to Oct 16) followed by the appt of Senior Consultant (Medicine) (Nov 16 to May 17) at Office of DGAFMS, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi, Dir Gen (Org & Pers) AFMS wef 02 Jun 2017 to 31 Mar 2018 and Officiating DGMS.
